Multispeckle diffusing wave spectroscopy as a tool to study heterogeneous mechanical behavior in soft solids

Multiple speckle diffusing wave spectroscopy (MSDWS) can be applied to measure spatially heterogeneous mechanical behavior in soft solids, with high sensitivity deformation and both spatial temporal resolution. In this paper, we discuss the mathematical approach behind quantification of rate from MSDWS data provide guidelines for optimizing selection experimental parameters measurements. After validating method extensional tests on an elastomer, example potentiality by measuring distribution during shear debonding adhesive tapes. We quantitatively characterize related shearing peeling under loading. A highly is observed, time-dependent measurements reveal increase localization hundreds seconds before full debonding. This behavior, previously predicted theory simulation, here demonstrated experimentally first time.
